A student brought his keyboard and serenaded us, and we chatted with the students, in both English and Spanish, while eating more slabs of meat than one can imagine. An asado is exactly that, along with vegetables, pasta salads, and bread. Phases of not talking or seeing each other because of business and stress would come and go. Even though you physically grew apart, you did not grow apart as friends.

We have a few short years, but, short though they are, we can earn for ourselves an eternity of happiness during this life. We know that if we follow the Shepherd, we are on the way to the true life, the perfect life, the unending life which will have no sorrow, regret or pain. I hadn’t listened to the song recently, so I played it to refresh it in my mind. The song title and the message are certainly relevant to our current events and also in the Gospel message for Good Shepherd Sunday.
Home is where the heart is and home will always be where you belong. Miley Cyrus said it best, "you'll always find your way back home." All through school and all the way up until high school graduation, all you heard was kids saying how they couldn't wait to move far far away and start over.

It is no secret that transitioning from high school to college is difficult. No matter how excited you were to get away from home, reality hit at some point. Although some people are better at adjusting than others, at the times when you were not, your roommate was there to listen. You helped each other out, and made it through together. If you think about it, your roommate was there through all of your first college experiences.
I think Taylor was relating to her experiencing of moving from PA to TN when she was 13, because I know that was a huge change in her life. The final song featured in the Hannah Montana movie embodies the film’s themes of change, showing that some things will always stay the same. In the beginning of the movie, Miley let fame go to her head, but after returning to her hometown of Crowley Corners she has a newfound appreciation for the privacy that the Hannah persona has allowed her. The first day of orientation, wishing you luck on the first days of classes, the first night out, etc. You will always look back and think, "I remember my first day of college with ____." For most students, getting through the last month of school before Christmas break is very painful. Most of us are probably walking zombies dragging ourselves around from the countless nights spent staying up late studying. Peter Canavese of Grouncho Reviews said "the story makes way for [...] 'You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home'", which would attract "the film's target audience of pre-teen girls".
It is sad to look back and realize everything that has changed since your freshman year days. You started college with a clean slate, and all you really had was each other. Even though you went separate ways, there is an unspoken rule that you are still always there for each other.
When one of you was in a funk, as soon as it was over, you bounced right back. The transition from high school to college is not easy, but somehow you made it out on the other side.

In a world where Facebook had recently acquired Instagram, it seemed to be the only logical response. Freshman year was not "easy," but looking back on it, it was more manageable than you thought at the time. College only gets busier the more the years go on, which means less free time. Freshman year you went to lunch, dinner, the gym, class, events, and everything else possible together. You had the chance to be each other's go-to before it got tough.

More recently, I went to a lunch at my host uncle’s house to celebrate my host mom’s birthday.

We turned out to also be celebrating one of my host cousin’s 18th birthdays. His head was completely shaved, and I had absolutely no idea why. Only in Argentina do boys shave their heads for the 18th birthday, the age that marks their newfound abilities to drive, vote, and drink alcohol. These past few weekends, I have found myself attending a variety of local events in Mendoza, including an asado, a traditional barbecue, and a family lunch to celebrate my host mom’s birthday. Not only have I been eating very well, but I have also made some connections with local Mendocinos, and I am very excited about it.
Some of the best times with family are often spent during the holidays. Catching up with family feels so good when you have not seen them for a while. Some students might have partied a little too much or drank a lot because of all the stress, so our livers will thank us greatly over the month long winter break. That is unless you do not stop the partying when you get home.
